ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?

Ensure implementation and compliance of BAT Guidelines and all Local / National regulations pertaining to Operations at Jhelum Factory. This is in line with the priorities for a safe work place and zero incidents

Reports to: PK ESH Manager

Reporting Level: Team Manager

Geographic Scope: Local

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

• Ensure compliance with BAT’s EHS policy and regulations at Jhelum Factory, staying updated with the latest regulatory requirements, and monitoring discharges/emissions.
• Provide EHS support for all ongoing projects, ensuring effective incident recording, accident investigation, and execution of remedial actions.
• Act as site In-charge for EHS, leading all EHS activities, supporting team on EHS Management System, and implementing procedures and solutions.
• Lead the development of staff, suppliers, and onsite contractors through active participation in EHS and job-specific training to achieve standards.
• Maintain good working relationships with local and government regulatory bodies, regularly interact with other EHS Managers, and engage with regional and global EHS communities to share practices and stay informed on industry changes.
• Continuously review work practices, identify potential risks, develop and implement internal control systems, and ensure the safety of all persons on site by following BAT guidelines.
• Conduct cross OpCo benchmarking through knowledge sharing, establish procedures, and opportunities for improvement in EHS practices.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

Experience Required

• With 5 years on hand experience of production and Engineering functions.
• Sound knowledge of BAT EHS policies and procedures
• Sound understanding of risk management principles and their application to the business.
• Good knowledge of environmental and health & safety national laws and legal processes.
• Understand and be sensitive to the natural environment and health & safety concerns and the priorities to be addressed.
• As a project leader needs to have motivational, team building and change management skills. Should have strong strategic vision and thinking to look ahead.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for regular communication with regulatory bodies and other internal and external stakeholders.
