Position Title: Finance Associate

Location: Hybrid (Karachi)

Department: Finance & Accounting

Reports To: Finance Manager / Managing Partner

Role Summary

The Finance Associate will be responsible for managing all matters related to Accounting, Finance, Taxation, and Cash Flow Management for the firm across multiple locations, including the U.S. and Pakistan. The role requires expertise in financial reporting, tax compliance, budgeting, financial analysis, and cash flow optimization, along with the ability to support consulting and new business projects.

The Finance Associate will play a key role in management reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and insights to support decision-making. In addition, the role will involve financial modeling, feasibility analysis, and investment planning for new initiatives, as well as contributing to consulting engagements related to financial strategy, business viability, and investment analysis.

This Finance Associate role is designed for a high-potential finance professional who can manage the firms financial and accounting operations, optimize cash flow and working capital, and contribute to strategic consulting projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Management

  • Maintain books of accounts in compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP).
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and payroll processing.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Implement and manage financial controls and internal audit processes.

2. Taxation & Compliance

  • Ensure tax compliance in multiple jurisdictions, including Pakistan and the U.S. (federal, state, and local taxes).
  • Prepare and file corporate tax returns, sales tax, and withholding tax statements.
  • Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, and legal advisors for tax planning and audits.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements (SEC, IRS, FBR, etc.).

3. Management Reporting & Financial Planning

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports with financial insights.
  • Conduct budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decisions.
  • Develop financial dashboards for real-time monitoring of financial performance.
  • Provide insights into cost optimization, profitability analysis, and business efficiency.

4. Cash Flow Management & Working Capital Optimization

  • Manage the firms cash flow to ensure financial stability and liquidity.
  • Oversee the proposal-to-cash cycle, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and revenue recognition.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices to reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).
  • Ensure timely accounts payable processing while optimizing payment schedules to manage working capital effectively.
  • Prepare and analyze cash flow forecasts to anticipate funding needs and mitigate risks.
  • Liaise with banks and financial institutions to manage banking transactions, credit lines, and treasury functions.

5. Consulting & New Projects

  • Conduct financial feasibility studies for new business initiatives and investments.
  • Develop financial models, cash flow projections, and ROI analysis for firms expansion and consulting engagements.
  • Support consulting teams in financial due diligence, risk analysis, and business valuation for client projects.
  • Provide expertise in fundraising strategies, investment structuring, and M&A transactions.

6. Financial Systems & Process Optimization

  • Implement best practices in financial processes, reporting automation, and ERP usage.
  • Enhance financial efficiency through process improvements, automation, and system integrations.
  • Evaluate and recommend accounting software, financial tools, and ERP solutions.

7. Cross-Border Financial Operations

  • Manage international transactions, multi-currency accounting, and exchange rate risk.
  • Ensure compliance with cross-border tax regulations, transfer pricing, and financial reporting standards.
  • Work closely with external auditors, banking partners, and legal advisors for financial governance.

Key Qualifications & Skills

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • CPA / ACCA / CFA / CA Finalist or equivalent certification is highly preferred.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, taxation, and cash flow management.
  • Experience in management reporting, tax compliance (U.S. & Pakistan), and financial consulting.
  • Prior exposure to feasibility studies, business modeling, or financial due diligence is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, U.S. and Pakistani tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and feasibility analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Xero) and financial reporting tools.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and financial analytics software.
